This issue is often caused when your computer system is not updated with the latest drivers available for your graphics card (GPU). Drivers are software updates which enable your GPU to communicate more effectively with games. Get the latest driver updates for your GPU

Microsoft released an update for its graphics card drivers in early September. This update was designed to help PC players run Halo: Infinite more smoothly and with fewer glitches.

Keep your GPU up-to-date by downloading driver updates from the manufacturer of your GPU (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel). If you don’t know who makes your GPU, go to Device Manager and select “GeForce” or “AMD” under Display adapters. The company will be listed as the maker of your card.

Once you have found it, right-click on it and select “Uninstall”. After that has been done, go to Control Panel again and press Windows Update under the heading of “User Control Panel”. Pressing Windows Update will bring up a list of available updates. Press “Check for updates”.

This process is necessary because the uninstallation of DirectX 12 may not fully remove all of its files from your system. This can cause conflicts with other programs or drivers which are already installed.

After this process is complete, restart your computer system and then install DirectX 12 again through Control Panel-> View Installed Updates-> Installed Updates-> Microsoft® DirectX® End User Runtimes (June 2010) -> Microsoft® DirectX® End User Runtimes (June 2010).
