It is never too early to teach your children how to use a flatbed scanner. Children can probably use scanning as a means to learn how to use other aspects of a computer system.

Doing a good scan can be easy, even for when you are beginning (presuming you were clever enough to select the correct brand and model of flatbed scanner to begin with)

Just be sure to warn the kids not to stare at the bright light inside the scanner. Instruct them not to scan prohibited items such as hundred dollar bills.

The motto of Heidelberg CPS is "color is child's play." Giving children an opportunity to learn scanning gives them a head start into the digital millennium.
Anyone graduating from school who can handle computer hardware and software lands a well paying job.

Linotype Hell scan of a bunny

The digital part of the next millennium has already arrived, so now is the time to start with a flatbed scanner at home or office.

As you can see, this Linotype-Hell Saphir Ultra 2 can handle a 3-dimensional object (Andrea's bunny rabbit).

Where and how to store your digital images? RAID, DVD, or CD-R ?

Lots of links to information on desktop publishing hardware/software, www.laser-printer-reviews.org

The large size of this rabbit a good case for considering an 11x17 inch scanner, but for kids a letter size A3 scanner is fine to start with.

What is the best way to store your scanned images?
CD-R or CD-RW ? Now you can have both in a single unit, 8x CD-R, 4x CD-RW, 24x read.
DVD-RAM, 5.2 GB per disk (2.6 GB per side), disks under $60, DVD-RAM burner/readers for under $800. Why is this a good storage solution and where can you buy these?
