FLAAR
+ UFM Introduction to Digital Photography
Summer 2004. But the reason why, at the end of having taken this course, that you will look back and be really glad you did, is that FLAAR has dedicated over 30 years to traditional photography with Leica, Nikon, Rollei, Hasselblad, and Linhof large format up to 8x10 chromes. So we know the world of 35mm negatives and slides, the world of medium format and larger. Yet we have made the transition, and thereby can assist you to enter digital photography too.
Most of the people who sign up say they were unable to find any other course where the instructor so clearly had personal experience in all four levels of digital cameras (point-and-shoot, 35mm, medium format, and large format). Once they sign up and take the course, they realize that most universities do not have the range of equipment of FLAAR. Plus Dr Hellmuth also teaches at the University of Malta and at Bowling Green State University. Each university has additional equipment and different kinds of studio lighting. So Professor Hellmuth has seen it all.
We have divided the course into two parts so you can try the first part without having to commit to the second level. You can, at any time, opt to continue with the second level and still get the discount.
All the info is in the Abstracts and Syllabus. You can take the course from the comfort of your home anywhere in the world via the Internet.
The Digital Photography course will help you understand the adjustments photographers must make when switching to digital imaging. Both professional and consumer digital cameras will be discussed in detail. As part of the course you will have access to extensive information on the latest developments through evaluations developed from the extensive personal experience of Dr. Nicholas Hellmuth, trade show events, end user feedback.
If
these dates are not convenient and you wish professional consulting
services from Dr Hellmuth, FLAAR, and/or Bowling Green State University,
please check out our description of consulting services on all FLAAR
web sites (listed under consulting). Nicholas Hellmuth is available
to fly to your location anywhere in the world or you can come here
to Ohio or to our university in Guatemala and work with you in English,
en español, or auf Deutsch. We also understand written French
and basic spoken French but don't write or speak it well.
Inquiries
by email only please: Use e-mail FLAARtest@aol.com. Please
explain who you are, what you seek to get out of such a course,
your approximate level (beginners are considered as well as seasoned
pros), and what equipment you have (most people don't yet have the
equipment which is why they want to take the courses, to learn what
to buy; so it is not a pre-requisite that you already have the equipment).
We
are unable to provide consulting via fax nor via this e-mail; this
mode of contact is exclusively to apply for consideration to be
accepted for a course. It is during the course that you will get
the information and access directly with Professor Hellmuth.
Please
to ask for FLAAR reports: to do that
requires filling out the inquiry
form. Please
do not use this e-mail nor fax for questions on hardware or software:
with 20,000+ readers per month on this web site we are not able
to answer personal questions individually unless you seek professional
consulting services on a regular fee basis. If you wish information,
this is readily available via the FLAAR Reports, which can only
be accessed by filling out the inquiry forms.
If
you do not wish to fill out the inquiry form, but still want the
reports anyway, you
can buy the reports without being limited to just three titles.
However it will be several months before you can get all the reports
by paying for them. In the meantime, five reports are free.
Please
do not telephone FLAAR or staff members at the university. Reports,
consultation, referrals are not available by phone or fax under
any condition. Reports and assistance are available only by filling
out a contact form, inquiry form, or request form by e-mail. If
you or your company wish to hire Nicholas Hellmuth in person and/or
FLAAR as a consultant on retainer, you can do this by writing FLAARtest@aol.com
and explaining what you need. However this is not a way to circumvent
the regular request for reports. That e-mail is only if you wish
to arrange professional consulting in person pre-paid in advance
